You collect gem chips and spend them on cards, and every card you buy makes the next ones cheaper. So the first few turns feel slow and then suddenly you're taking two cards a turn and it snowballs. Most of the game is you eyeing the one card you've been saving for and praying nobody takes it before your turn comes around. The chips are proper heavy poker style ones so it just feels good to play.

WHY WE PICKED THIS
A French design from 2014 that was nominated for Spiel des Jahres and has sold millions since. It's what European shops hand you as your first real strategy game, and it's still one of the best at that job. Not sold anywhere in Pakistan that we've found. Perfect first step for someone who only knows Monopoly.
